Interview Q's

When did you start skating ?

Oh man, I started in 88 cause I remember saying all the time, " I'm gonna skate in 88", since then I played drums in a band called Ocean3 in the late nineties for four years, but by 2000 it was full on skating again.

What kind of spots are you into these days ?

I grew up skating tons of sweet Vancouver spots. It was super fun in the mid nineties with places like the New Spot, Art Gallery and all the great North Van parks. These days I like smooth spots like the Plaza, Beach Spot, Bonsor, UBC.

Who do you skate with ?

My riders, friends, myself, Back in tha day growing up it was always with Lee Matasi and Jason Sandover, good times progressing with those guys growing up, lately i've been pushing around with my buddy Matt Dobson, juss kickin' it, ha.

What's your dream trick ?

Nollie cab flip a 12 stair, ha, you never know, right ?.

What do you do when your not skating ?

I like driving around seeing the sights of all the local cities, playing a little guitar, playing pool, hang out with Cappa and shoot tha shhhh.

When your going for that big trick, is there anything you tell yourself that helps get that trick a little quicker ?

I'm not much of a big trick guy, no big stairs for me, but when i'm going for something challenging I just tell myself once I get the feel of it, I just say "ain't no thang but a chicken wang" that usually does the trick.

Who's killing it these days ?

I grew up skating in the 90's and got to see all the progression that went down, so when I see guys these years, maaaan holy smokes back in the day it was the RDS crew Colin, Moses, Sluggo but these days the Desenzos, Paul Trep, Kyle Desaulniers, Sascha Daley, Stacey Gabriel, Spencer Hamilton.

What does the future hold for you ?

I've done a lot of soul searching the last year on what I really want to do, it seems like I came full circle and I just want to stick with skateboarding, ya can't blame me, it's tha best, ha.

Any words of wisdom ?

Wisdom ? hummmm, stay in school and stay off the party drugs,ha .. that's the main one, just do what makes you the happiest and stick with it, no matter what it is.
